Childcare Assistance Program:
The Childcare Assistance Program is a program funded by grants from the State of New York. Eligible families are those who receive TANF or who are at or below the 125% of Federal Poverty guidelines and are either working or attending an approved training program. This program is designed to help parents maintain employment without enduring the total cost of daycare themselves. The benefits of this program are not only to help the parents with keeping their jobs, but also to enhance the child's development.
Parents may choose either registered or informal daycare providers who meet quality childcare standards as set by the County and State. Further, the Division of Human Services provides quality assessments, assistance, and referrals to daycare providers through the Child and Family Resources. Improving and ensuring the safety of program enrolled children are foremost priorities. However, there is a waiting list. If you are interested in being added to the waiting list, please call to have elegibility determined.
